Strengthening a health system means initiating activities in the six internationally accepted core of Health System Strengthening (HSS) functions –human resources for health; health finance; health governance; health information; medical products, vaccines, and technologies; and service delivery. The key purpose of the conference is to promote common understanding of what public health responses to HSS.

The objectives of the conference are to:

  1. Discuss concerns about what health system is and what constitutes HSS
  2. Share international experiences to promote cross-learning of good practices in HSS; and
  3. Promote international collaboration in HSS efforts
  4. Establish networks with speakers and participants from different countries
  5. Boost international publications
